Executive Functions and ADHD
You might be wondering whether children who struggle with executive functions simply have what’s called ADHD – or whether all children with ADHD experience difficulties in these areas.

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) describes a pattern of persistent challenges with attention, impulse control, and often increased activity levels. These traits can significantly affect a child’s daily life – at school, at home, and in social situations.

Many children with ADHD do experience particular difficulties with certain executive functions – especially sustained attention, impulse control, and working memory. However, not every child who faces challenges in these areas necessarily has ADHD.

For my coaching work, a diagnosis is not the deciding factor. What truly matters is supporting the development of your child’s executive functions – because this investment is always worth the effort.
